Ambassadors Spouses Enjoy A Taste Of Indonesia

Dharma Wanita KBRI Kuwait untuk yang kesekian kali diekspose kembali dalam sebuah koran lokal Kuwait Times, 1 Jun 2011 saat mengundang ibu ibu duta besar dari berbagai macam negara yang ada di Kuwait dalam acara Coffee Morning. Sebuah acara bincang bincang santai pagi hari sambil menyaksikan pertunjukan budaya Indonesia yang dipersembahkan oleh ibu ibu Dharma Wanita KBRI Kuwait.

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuwait, in cooperation with the Indonesia Ladies Association, organized a gathering of ambassador's spouses, which took place on Monday at the Indonesia ambassador’s residence in Yarmouk.
After inaugurating the event and welcoming the distinguished guests, the host, the Indonesia ambassador’s spouse, Eva Drita Adamhar, mentioned a session of cultural performances scheduled for the following day too, also at the ambassadorial residence.

The gathering provided spouses with the chance to see some of the traditional Indonesian cultural art forms, such as the Lenggang Nyai dance, as well as a fashion ahow of the famous Indonesia traditional costumes, Including kebaya, Songket and most famously, Batik. There were also performances by players of the traditional Indonesian bamboo flute, the angklung, and of well known Indonesian folk songs, such as Ampar-Ampar Pisang and Yamko Rambe Yamko, and last but not least, a performer who played traditional and contemporary Indonesia songs.

The event also aimed to encourage a better understanding of Indonesia’s recent development, as well as enabling the guests to find out more about the country’s tourism, trade and industrial sector. The gathering was also expected to further enhance cooperation and friendship between Indonesia and other countries.

During the performances, the guests also had a chance to view a display of traditional Indonesian garments, getting an opportunity to feel the texture and view the intricate patterns up close. Across the Indonesian archipelago, the variety of fabrics, patterns and textures used in making the garments varies widely.

At the end of the gathering, the guests also enjoyed mouth watering traditional Indonesian cuisine, with a menu including Sate Ayam, Beef rendang, Fried Tempe, Gado-gado ( Indonesian Vegetable Salad ), Chicken Soto, and many more. As they ate, the guests also enjoyed a movie about tourism in Indonesia.
